The challenge was not just awareness, but perception. Many students felt the need to leave Alabama for better career opportunities, leading to the loss of future local professionals. The campaign needed to increase awareness of in-state opportunities while presenting itself that got attention of college students who have the skillset for careers in Alabama in a way that felt relevant, credible, and engaging enough for them.
Case Study
As the graphic design specialist, I led the visual content for their Instagram presence, including creating a mascot to be a recognizable icon for the initiative. Designs and motion graphics were created with bold colors, modern aesthetic, and comical yet engaging feel to make them "stop-scrolling" worthy long enough to witness them. I also created marketing materials, website's layout design, and conference banners, helping to create a cohesive visual identity across digital and physical spaces while learning how the engagement was developing.
